Webflow to Squarespace Migration

The design was never the problem. The plan and the upkeep were.

Webflow gives you real design control. It also gives you CMS item limits, collaborator seats, and a pricing structure that grows with your site whether you wanted it to or not. We move Webflow sites to Squarespace properly, with the SEO work done first, not as an afterthought.

The real problem

Webflow didn't get worse. It just got harder to justify.

Webflow is a genuinely capable design tool. But the reasons businesses move away from it are consistent, and worth being honest about.

01

Pricing that grows with your content

CMS item limits and bandwidth tiers mean your plan can need an upgrade as your blog, portfolio, or product catalogue grows, sometimes without much warning.

02

Built for a designer, not necessarily for you

Webflow's class-based styling and interaction system rewards technical fluency. A simple text or layout change can require understanding concepts most business owners never signed up to learn.

03

Collaborator seats add up

Bringing in a second team member or a contractor to help manage the site often means another paid seat, on top of the CMS and hosting plan.

04

The person who built it isn't always the person maintaining it

Many Webflow sites were built by an agency or freelancer who is no longer involved. Whoever inherits the site inherits their specific setup choices too.

05

Ecommerce that often points elsewhere anyway

Webflow's ecommerce tools work, but for many businesses that actually need to sell products at scale, Shopify ends up being the real destination, making Webflow a stop along the way rather than the final platform.

06

No simple owner-editing experience

Squarespace was built assuming the site owner would be the one making day-to-day edits. Webflow was not, which is fine for an agency-managed site, and a real friction point once that relationship ends.

Who this is for

Is a Webflow migration right for your business?

Migration is not the right move for every Webflow site. Here's how to tell.

Good fit

This is right for youif you check most of these boxes.

You've hit CMS item limits or plan costs are climbing as your content grows
The person who built your Webflow site is no longer available to maintain it
You want to make day-to-day edits yourself without learning Webflow's design logic
You care about preserving existing search rankings during the move
You're a service business or professional practice, not running a highly custom web application

Not the right fit

This isn't right for youif any of these sound familiar.

Your Webflow site relies on complex custom interactions core to the business
You have a designer actively maintaining the site and costs are manageable
You haven't decided whether you even want to migrate
Your team includes someone genuinely comfortable in Webflow's design tools and content stays within your current CMS limits
Your site depends on a Webflow-specific integration or membership setup with no real Squarespace equivalent

What we build

A migration that protects what's already working.

Every migration starts from what your site already has, not a blank page.

01

Full content transfer

Every page, CMS collection, and piece of media inventoried and moved across, not just the pages that are easy to find.

02

Complete redirect mapping

Every existing URL mapped to its new Squarespace address with a proper 301 redirect, so links from other sites and search engines land somewhere real.

03

SEO preservation

Titles, meta descriptions, header structure, and existing rankings protected as the priority, not handled after the fact.

04

A genuine design rebuild

Your site rebuilt in Squarespace's design system, with Webflow's custom interactions and class-based styling translated deliberately rather than approximated.

05

CMS collection rebuild

Webflow's CMS collections rebuilt as Squarespace collections, with the same content structure so nothing has to be manually re-entered.

06

Post-launch monitoring

Search Console and Analytics reconfigured, with rankings tracked closely through the weeks immediately after launch.

What is included

A complete migration, start to finish.

Every Webflow migration includes the full scope below. Nothing left for you to figure out afterward.

Pre-migration site audit: every page, CMS collection, and interaction catalogued before anything moves
Full content and media transfer: nothing left behind or silently dropped
301 redirect mapping for every URL: old links resolve to the right new page
SEO preservation pass: titles, meta descriptions, and header structure carried over deliberately
Design rebuild in Squarespace: interactions and styling translated, not approximated
CMS collection rebuild: the same content structure, rebuilt natively
Search Console and Analytics reconfiguration: tracking continuity from day one
Post-launch ranking monitoring: close attention during the weeks that matter most
Recorded handover and documentation: how to manage your new site day to day

How it works

The migration process, start to launch.

Every migration follows the same structure. Timeline: three to six weeks depending on site size and CMS complexity.

01

Site Audit

A full inventory of your current Webflow site: pages, CMS collections, interactions, and current search performance as a baseline.

One to two weeks before kickoff

02

Scope and Redirect Map

A written scope covering what needs to be rebuilt, plus a complete redirect map for every existing URL, reviewed before any build work starts.

Within one week of the audit

03

Content Transfer and Design Build

Content moved across and the new Squarespace site built around it, with a staging link shared partway through for review.

Bulk of the timeline

04

Pre-Launch SEO Check

Every redirect tested, every title and meta description confirmed in place, before the new site goes live.

Before go-live

05

Launch and Monitoring

We go live and monitor rankings and traffic closely through the period where most temporary movement happens, adjusting anything that needs it.

First four weeks post-launch

A note on your current site during the build: your live Webflow site is never touched or interacted with during the migration, for business continuity. We build the new site on a separate Squarespace account using placeholder URLs that stay fixed throughout the build, never changed midway, to avoid the kind of last-minute link issues that cause problems later. Only once everything is checked and approved do we connect your domain to the new Squarespace site.

Investment

Start with clarity. Move when you're ready.

Questions

Before you move your site.

If your question is not here, the strategy call is the right place to ask it.

Some temporary movement is normal during any platform migration, this is true regardless of which agency does the work. What matters is how quickly rankings recover. We map every redirect before launch and monitor closely afterward specifically to shorten that recovery window.
Most migrations take three to six weeks depending on site size and how many CMS collections and custom interactions need to be rebuilt. Timeline is confirmed after we have reviewed your current site.
Every page, CMS collection, and media file is inventoried and transferred, with the same content structure rebuilt in Squarespace.
We review what each interaction is doing and rebuild it using Squarespace's native design tools where possible. Highly custom animation work may need to be scoped as a separate conversation before we can confirm timeline and cost.
We handle all redirect mapping as part of the migration. You will not need a separate developer for this step.
Completely. Some ranking movement is normal immediately after any platform migration, including our own, we migrated from Webflow to Squarespace ourselves in January 2026. We would rather set that expectation clearly than have you discover it and lose trust in the process.
No. All engagements are conducted remotely, so we work with clients anywhere. Canada and the US make up the majority of our current client base.
