Service Business Website

Book more clients. Without the hustle.

Your clients are searching for you online right now. If your website does not earn their trust in the first few seconds, they book someone else. We build websites that make choosing you feel like an easy decision.

Why most fail

Reasons your website is not converting.

Service business websites fail in predictable ways. The work is excellent. The clients are loyal. But the website does not reflect any of it — and new clients who find you online cannot tell the difference between you and the next option on the list.

01

It shows your work but not your value.

A gallery of beautiful photos is not a conversion tool. Visitors need to understand what you do, who you do it for, and what makes you the right choice — before they are willing to book. Most service business sites skip all three.

02

Booking is harder than it should be.

If a potential client cannot find your booking link in under five seconds, they leave. Friction in the booking path costs you clients every single day — and most business owners never see it happening because they never look at their site from a new visitor's perspective.

03

It looks DIY in a category where first impressions matter.

Clients in beauty, wellness, and events are visual decision-makers. They judge your service by how your brand looks before they have experienced it. A website that looks unfinished tells them something about your attention to detail — even when your work is flawless.

04

Invisible in local search.

Clients searching "[service] near me" never find you if local SEO was never set up. Beautiful work does not matter if the site never shows up in the results that actually drive bookings.

05

Reviews and results are scattered, not showcased.

Five-star reviews live on Google and Instagram but never make it onto the site — exactly where a hesitant visitor needs to see them most.

06

No follow-up when someone doesn't book.

A visitor checks pricing, hesitates, and leaves. Nothing brings them back — no automated reminder, no easy way to reconsider. That is a lost client with no second chance.

What we build

Every element earns its place.

Every decision is grounded in how your specific clients discover, evaluate, and book a service like yours. Design serves that journey — not the other way around.

01

Visual identity applied consistently

Your colours, fonts, and brand aesthetic applied across every page with intention. Not a generic template with your logo dropped in — a site that feels like it was built specifically for your business and the clients you are trying to attract.

02

Frictionless booking path

The booking button is visible on every page. The path from landing to booked is direct. We integrate your existing scheduler — whether that is Calendly, Acuity, Fresha, or another platform — so the visitor never has to go hunting for how to work with you.

03

Work and results showcase

A portfolio or gallery built to convert — not just display. Organised by service, with captions that reinforce your positioning and lead visitors toward booking. Client testimonials positioned where they do the most work in the consideration process.

04

Local SEO foundations

Built to be found by the right people in your area. Page titles, meta descriptions, local schema markup, and Google Business Profile alignment — so when someone searches for your service in your city, you are in the results that matter.

05

Independent operation

We build on Squarespace — a platform you can manage without a developer or a monthly retainer. Update your pricing, add new work, publish content. You receive a recorded walkthrough and documentation so routine changes never require our involvement.

What is included

Everything you need to launch and book clients.

Every service business build includes the full set below as standard. The scope is built around what it takes to produce a site that generates bookings.

Strategy session — positioning, audience, and booking goals confirmed before design begins
Full site design and build — homepage, services, about, contact, gallery, and key interior pages
Service pages — one per core offering, with pricing, description, and booking CTA
Portfolio or gallery — organised by service, conversion-focused layout
Booking integration — your scheduler embedded directly, not as an external redirect
Lead magnet and opt-in setup — Flodesk connected, email capture live
Local SEO foundations — page titles, meta descriptions, local schema, Search Console connected
Google Analytics 4 — installed, goals configured, booking funnel tracked
Two rounds of revisions — before final delivery
Recorded handover walkthrough — how to manage updates, add new work, and edit pricing

Who this is for

Built for specific situations.

This service is for professionals and firms at a specific point — where the website is visibly limiting growth, whether through poor positioning, low credibility signals, or a complete absence of an inbound channel.

Solo practitioner

Expert positioning, personal brand at the front

You are the product. Prospects are hiring your thinking and your track record. The site needs to lead with your credibility, surface your results, and make booking a conversation frictionless.

Management consultants and fractional executives
Wealth advisors and financial planners

Boutique firm

Company-led, team as proof of capability

Your brand leads. The team supports it. The site needs to communicate the firm's positioning, specialisation, and the kind of work you do — without looking like a brochure from 2017.

Corporate and commercial lawyers
HR, operations, and strategy consultants

Growth stage

Established enough to need a real digital presence

You have the track record and the clients. The website does not reflect it. You are losing prospects to competitors who look more credible online — even when your work is better.

Chartered accountants and bookkeepers
Multi-partner firms and growing advisory practices

Referral-dependent

Ready to add an inbound channel alongside referrals

Referrals are working, but you know they will not always be enough. You want a website that can generate inbound enquiries on its own — not just validate referrals who would have hired you anyway.

Any professional practice relying primarily on word of mouth today
Firms ready to reduce reliance on personal networks

Not the right fit

Pre-revenue or still testing the model

If you are still working out your service offering or have not yet worked with paying clients, a QBD template is the right starting point. Full implementation works best when there is proven service, existing clients, and content to build from.

How it works

The process, start to launch.

Every engagement follows the same structure. Timeline: two to three weeks from when you deliver your content. The timeline is driven primarily by how quickly you can provide content and feedback — not by build speed.

01

Strategy Session

A structured conversation covering your business, your clients, your competitors, and your goals. This produces the brief that guides every design and copy decision. No discovery form. A real conversation with the person building your site.

60–90 minutes · Included in all engagements

02

Scope and Proposal

A clear written scope — pages, inclusions, timeline, and investment. You approve it before any work begins. No ambiguity on either side about what is included and what is not.

Delivered within 48 hours of strategy session

03

Content Collection

You provide your existing content — past proposals, presentations, LinkedIn profile, case study notes, headshot. We work with what you have. You do not need to write fresh copy from scratch. If you have nothing, we can discuss a content build-out as an add-on.

You provide · We organise and implement

04

Build and Midpoint Review

We build in Squarespace and share a staging link at the midpoint for your review. You give feedback on structure, copy, and visual direction. We incorporate changes before the final delivery round.

Staging link shared at midpoint · Two revision rounds

05

Launch and Handover

We go live, connect your domain, and walk you through the completed site on a recorded session. You receive documentation on how to manage updates, publish articles, and edit content. No ongoing dependency required.

Recorded walkthrough · Documentation included

Investment

Three paths. One destination.

The right starting point depends on how much is ready and how much professional execution you need. All three paths produce a conversion-first website built on the same strategic framework.

Three resources covering the fundamentals of a service business website before you invest in a rebuild.

Common questions

Straight answers.

If your question is not here, the strategy call is the right place to ask it. We cover your specific situation on the call — not a generic overview.

We build exclusively on platforms our clients can manage independently after launch. Squarespace is excellent for service businesses — clean, fast, and editable without a developer. Shopify is the right choice if you also sell products. We are not generalists. We know these platforms deeply, and that specificity produces better results.
Yes. We integrate whichever scheduler you are already using — Calendly, Acuity, Fresha, Vagaro, or others. If you do not have a booking system yet, we will recommend the right one for your business type during the strategy session. The booking path is always built directly into the site, not as an afterthought.
Photos of your work, your logo or any existing brand assets, and a list of your services and pricing. We can work with content you already have — Instagram posts, old website copy, or notes — and organise it into a coherent site structure. A professional headshot helps if you want to be featured personally.
Template Implementation: two to three weeks from when you deliver your content. The timeline is driven by how quickly you can provide content and feedback, not by build speed. Custom builds (2027) run six to ten weeks depending on scope.
No — but if you sell physical products alongside your services, Shopify is likely the better platform for you. See the Service and Product Business page for details on when Shopify makes more sense than Squarespace. If you are service-only with no physical products to sell online, Squarespace is the right fit.
Yes — that is a design requirement, not just a nice-to-have. We build on Squarespace specifically because clients can manage it independently. You receive a recorded walkthrough and documentation covering how to update pricing, add new portfolio work, publish content, and manage your booking integrations. No developer needed for routine updates.
No. All engagements are conducted remotely, so we work with clients anywhere. Canada and the US make up the majority of our current client base, but strategy sessions, reviews, and handovers all happen over video call regardless of where you are.
